Religion has existed since prehistoric times, as man searched for the purpose of life and its origin. Much of what we know today of early man is learned through artifacts and preliterate recordings, such as wall murals of animals and landmarks like Stonehenge. Over time, the beliefs were organized into formulas, a moral or ethical code, and rituals. Religions have now evolved into factors which heavily influence our daily lives, through the way we act and how we present our outlook on life.
My first introduction to religion was fairly common. It even has a name, religious infantilism. My parents were Protestant Christians, so I was baptized as a child, without consent. I had no clue what religion was, just that God existed and He had given His Son to die for us on the cross, and we should recognize this act as the ultimate sacrifice. I began to grow curious as to why people always dressed up for church, and how God could cause people to give up their lives in the efforts of living a pleasing life for Him. On my search, I learned of His grace and love for us, and I accepted Christianity for myself in middle school, and it's become one of the overarching factors of my life ever since. I became more active in church by joining the praise team, and at school I participated in groups like Vida Nueva and Psalms, to have a relationship with Christ in all aspects of my life, rather than leaving my faith for Sunday mornings. Now that I have grown and matured as a Christian, my faith is an integral part of who I am and how I live my life.
